A quick look on eBay revealed an RTX 2080 Ti Super up for auction. The card, which has never been officially released, was listed at a high price—nearly $1,700—while its specifications were revealed via a GPU-Z screenshot. In short, this is an ultra-rare card that hasn’t even been fully released to the market yet. In fact, the specs are very close to those of a Titan RTX!

To put it simply, with this 2000 series, NVIDIA offered refreshed lineup; this was also the first appearance of the “Super” label on the company’s GPUs. While most of the lineup was refreshed, an RTX 2080 Ti Super was missing—but as we can see, the company had given it serious consideration. In fact, the card even received a serial number, which shows just how far along the project was. However, the card never saw the light of day, and one wonders if this wasn’t due to technical reasons. Looking at the card’s specifications, it’s very close to a Titan RTX from that era.
Specifically, this 2080 Ti Super features a full TU102GPU, which amounts to 4,608CUDA cores. In terms of memory, we would have been treated to a card utilizing 12 GB ofGDDR6, all with a 384-bit bus. In contrast, the original 2080 Ti featured a GPU with 4,352CUDA cores and 11 GB of VRAM with a 352-bit bus. Finally, the Titan RTX shares the same specs as this 2080 Ti Super, but it has twice as much memory: 24 GB.

Obviously, don’t ask us how this kind of card ends up up for auction on eBay—we have no idea. However, it’s clear that the seller wants to capitalize on the card’s rarity to get the most out of it. It’s worth noting that the card isn’t officially supported by any driver software since it’s a prototype. To get this model recognized, you’d have to modify files to add support for the hardware ID. In short, this is a card that’s definitely of interest to collectors!
