Another rumour surrounding NVIDIA and its next generation of graphics cards. Via the Board Partners forum, we learn that production of almost all RTX 40s has been halted by the Chameleon. The aim here is to concentrate on the production of the future RTX 50s, due to arrive in early 2025!

RTX 40: only the RTX 4060 is still in production!

GeForce RTX 5090

According to rumours, almost all the GPUs making up the RTX 4000 series have been discontinued by NVIDIA. The aim here is to concentrate production lines on the new generation in order to build up sufficient stocks for the launch and to satisfy demand. Incidentally, we have learned that only the AD107, the GPU for the RTX 4060, is still in production.

This means that NVIDIA is currently in the process of emptying its stocks of current-generation GPUs. We can therefore expect some great promotions for Black Friday… Well, that remains to be seen, as previous years haven’t been the greatest.

What’s more, if this situation is confirmed, we could also see some models being discontinued, with temporary price rises. The LDLC group no longer has any RTX 4090s in stock. Quite simply, the card has disappeared from the selection criteria. What’s more, this was an announced end, as we told you here.

As a reminder, from January NVIDIA should be bringing out its top-of-the-range RTX 50s with its RTX 5090/D and RTX 5080. Then, in February, we should be treated to the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, finishing with the RTX 5060 series in March.
