RX 7700 and RX 7800 already spotted on 3DMark?

While we’re waiting for new graphics cards from AMD, a little scoundrel has leaked some 3DMark scores. These showcase AMD’s mid-range RX 7700 and RX 7800 cards. Their aim is simple: to fill the abyssal gap between the RX 7600 and RX 7900 XT/X.

RX 7700 and RX 7800: first 3DMark TimeSpy scores!

The first thing you notice with these scores is that we only know the graphics part used. Behind this, the configuration is not mentioned, so we don’t know which processor is at work, nor the RAM or motherboard.

In any case, the little 7700 scores 15565 pts, while the 7800 climbs to 18197. Roughly speaking, these results enable the red cards to compete with the RTX 4060 Ti (between 12800 pts and 15000 pts) for the 7700 and with the RTX 4070 (between 16300 pts and 21000 pts) for the 7800. However, this second card could be in trouble against the RX 6800, whose scores vary between 14500 pts and 24900 pts depending on configuration. At least, that’s what Tom’s Hardware tells us.

Finally, the other unknown is the state of the drivers and how optimized they are. The same goes for graphics cards: what stage of development are we at? In the meantime, we’re expecting AMD to reveal its cards during GamesCom!
