This time around, AMD has decided to do its own thing with its two new drivers. Indeed, the reds are offering us two drivers that depart from their usual release pattern. The first is AMD Software 23.10.01.37 for the RX 7600 for F1 23. In a second step, the company releases AMD Software 22.40.57.06 for its other boards!
AMD Software 23.10.01.37 for the little RX 7600!
This first version specifically targets the RX 7600, providing support for F1 23… And that’s all. However, AMD does acknowledge a few problems, as follows:
- Some games or VR applications may experience sub-optimal performance or even stuttering.
- Intermittent crashes or light corruption may appear on Blender.

AMD Software 22.40.57.06, same thing, different problems!
For this version, AMD offers the same new features, namely support for F1 23. However, the company does not acknowledge the same problems with the other cards in its range as with its 7600 :
- High idle power consumption can be observed situationally on high resolutions and high refresh rates with RX 7000s.
- Some VR games/applications may experience sub-optimal performance or even stuttering with RX 7000s.
- Crashes can be observed when playing RuneScape on certain RADEON cards such as the RX 5700 XT.
- Crashes or timeouts can be observed when playing back AV1 video content on DaVinci Resolve Studio .
- Intermittent corruptions can be observed when changing windows while playing Nioh 2 on certain RADEON boards such as the RX 6800 XT.
Finally, it’s rather disappointing to see that no corrective action has been taken on these long-identified recurring problems. In particular, the high idle power consumption of the RX 7000.
