A GALAX RTX 4090 at 3450 MHz under LN2

It was to be expected that with the launch of the RTX 4090 yesterday afternoon, the first results under liquid nitrogen cooling would also be available. As a reminder, we managed to reach 3075 MHz with the cooling system of our MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X. Here, it is an RTX 4090 from GALAX, the SG (Serious Gaming) model which saw its frequency reach 3450 MHz under liquid nitrogen.

The TecLab OC team had to make quite a few modifications to the PCB before running this session in cold conditions. They had to disable the power limit controller but also move some capacitors to the back of the PCB in order to install the LN2 bucket.

The copy of their GALAX RTX 4090 SG also reached 3075 MHz in aircooling. It is thus a frequency of 3450 MHz which was reached even if our colleagues noticed concerning performances beyond -100°C. This bench under liquid nitrogen allowed them to break no less than 5 world records. But you should know that with our water cooling tests , we are still well placed in the world ranking on Hwbot. We will try in the coming days to put our RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X under DOD.
