Gigabyte has just announced the arrival of a new batch of mini-PCs with its Brix Extreme. Basically, they are mini-computers, occupying a very small space. The brand announces an update of their configuration since they now embark Core i of 12th generation.
Brix Extreme: mini-PCs with twelfth generation Core i!
With this model, Gigabyte offers ultra-compact mini-PCs with dimensions of 134 (W) x 139 (D) x 44 (H) mm. Despite this size, the brand has opted for a 12th generation Intel processor with up to 12 cores (4 performance cores and 8 eco cores). For cooling, it is difficult to say what we are dealing with, however, it announces itself as “high performance”.
Otherwise, two series are offered with a “tall” providing support for 2.5″ storage units. The “slim” version will be satisfied with a single M.2 slot in PCIe 4.0 x4. On the memory side, it will be possible to install DDR4-3200 in SO-DIMM format. Finally, an upgrade will be possible and it will allow to add a LAN port, RS232 and an M.2 2280.
The basic connectivity features five USB Type A and two USB Type C. On the front, there is a headphone jack and the power button. At the back, we have the right to a mini-DisplayPort and two HDMI 2.1. The Ethernet benefits from a network part in 2.5 GbE while the audio is satisfied with a chip ALC897. Finally, a kesington lock is present, as well as the power socket.
For the moment, no price, we just know that the availability will be effective in the second quarter of 2022.
