AMD has released a new version of its graphics driver, the RADEON Software Adrenalin Edition, version 29.3.2. This new version brings support for new games, including Lies of P. Likewise, Anti-Lag is now compatible with new titles such as Starfield.

23.9.2: a new AMD driver for Lies of P!

Lies of P - RADEON RX 400The program includes a number of additions, including support for new games. Lies of P, Party Animals and The Crew Motorfest are the three games now supported by AMD.

But that’s not all: the reds also bring support for the following Microsoft SDKs :

  • Agility SDK Preview Release v1.711.3 including Shader Model 6.8 features for GPU Work Graphs (GWG).
  • Agility SDK Retail Release 1.610.5 including Enhanced Barriers and Vulkan on DirectX12-compatible features.

Next up is Anti-Lag, which gains support for new games. These include popular titles such as Starfield, The Witcher 3, Elden Ring and Immortal of Aveum. At the same time, AMD has announced a latency reduction of up to 45% on compatible titles. Finally, we learn that an overlay is available via the Alt Shift L key combination. This will display the latency of supported games, while the Alt Shift F combination will monitor FPS when Anti-Lag and Anti-Lag are active.

On the patch front, AMD offers a few minor fixes:

  • Fixes for crashes observed on Baldur’s Gate 3 with the RX 7900 XTX using the VulkanAPI.
  • GPU frequency will no longer be artificially limited to 2700 MHz in manual settings on RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT.
  • No more crashes or pilot timeouts on SMITE with the RX 7900 XTX.
  • Same thing on F1 23, but with the RX 7800 XT.

Finally, there are two or three little known and identified problems:

  • The performance overlay may display ” N/A ” in the FPS box on some games.
  • Audio/video desynchronization may occur when recording in AV1 via RADEON Software.
  • When streaming via AMD Link on some games, the display may freeze intermittently after changing the encoding format. To get around this, select the encoding format before starting the stream!

So don’t expect any optimizations or support for the RX 400, 500, Vega, Pro Duo for the next Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, even if Ubisoft mentions the RX 570. Finally, it’s a unified driver, meaning there’s just one driver for all cards, which wasn’t the case with the previous version. A different driver was offered for the RX 7800 XT and 7700 XT!

EDIT: in fact, a driver for GCN cards has been launched… But separately!
