We’re off to the fabulous world of overclocking with saltycroissant, who has set a new world record for memory frequency. In fact, the latter recorded memory running at 13,556 MT/s with a Corsair kit bearing the “Computex 2026” label. In short, the records for RAM frequency continue to roll in, and we’ve now surpassed 13,550 MT/s. How far will we go?
13,556 MT/s: a new DDR5 frequency world record!
All on Z890 Tachyon Duo X Ice!
This new world record was set by a Gigabyte motherboard, more precisely a Z890 Aorus Tachyon Duo X Ice. In fact, it’s a benchmark for overclockers and performance enthusiasts, particularly in the field of memory. In fact, the card has all the tools needed to increase memory frequency. These include two DDR5 slots and a socket oriented at -90°, designed to encourage higher frequencies.
For his demonstration, the Canadianoverclocker used a Core Ultra 7 270K paired with Corsair memory. The latter benefited from a customized heatsink with a Computex 2026 label, as well as a marking bearing the person’s pseudonym. Under the latter, we find SK Hynix memory chips, but the model number remains illegible on the photos shared.
In any case, we’ll remember that both memory and processor benefited from extreme cooling, based on liquid nitrogen to be precise. This enabled it to reach 13,556 MT/s (6778 MHz effective), while reducing the number of active cores on the CPU in the interests of configuration stability.
At the same time, Gigabyte has announced that it took ten first places in this year’s G.Skill OC World Cup. However, the configurations were different: G.Skill memory and X870 Aorus Infinity motherboard !
