101.5379, a new Intel driver for Horizon and Diablo 4 RTX!

New driver update from Intel. Following NVIDIA’s GeForce 551.86 WHQL, Intel now releases 101.5379. The aim is to provide support for Horizon Forbidden West in particular, but also Diablo 4 RTX, as well as boosting performance and correcting a few annoying bugs.

101.5379: new Intel driver, up to 172% performance boost!

With this new driver, Intel naturally brings support for new games. We’re talking here aboutHorizon Forbidden West, Diablo 4 ray tracing update, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and The Legend of the Condor Heroes.

Compared with version 101.5333, this update brings further performance gains:

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins (DX11):
    • Up to 35% higher performance in 1080p with Ultra high detail.
  • Conqueror’s Blade (DX11):
    • Up to 54% performance in 1080p with highest detail.
  • Detroit: Become Human (Vulkan):
    • Up to 137% performance in 1080p with Ultra detail.
    • Up to 172% performance in 1440p with Ultra detail.
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 (DX12):
    • Up to 36% performance in 1080p with high detail and Progressive Rendering Mode.
    • Up to 31% performance in 1440p with high detail and Progressive Rendering Mode.
  • Fortnite (DX12):
    • Up to 6% performance in 1080p with Epic details.
    • Up to 6% performance in 1440p with Epic details.
  • God of War (DX11):
    • Up to 36% performance in 1080p with Ultra detail.
  • Grandblue Fantasy: Reling (DX11):
    • Up to 174% performance in 1080p with Ultra detail.
  • Horizon Forbidden West (DX12):
    • Up to 6% performance in 1440p with high detail.
  • Son’s of the Forest (DX11):
    • Up to 8% performance in 1080p with Ultra detail.
    • Up to 6% performance in 1440p with high detail.

Patches:

We now move on to the patch section, which highlights :

  • Intel Arc A-Series Graphics Products:
    • Counter Strike 2 (Vulkan) will no longer crash at launch.
    • Same for DOTA 2 (Vulkan).
  • Intel Core Ultra with Intel Arc GPU:
    • Correction of benchmark crashes on Serif Affinity Photo 2.
    • No more corruption when deactivating global reflection on Alan Wake 2 (DX12).

Finally, we’d like to end with a list of problems identified with this 101.5379 driver:

  • Intel Arc Graphics Products:
    • A long loading time may occur on Horizon Forbidden West (DX12) before arriving in game on first launch. We recommend that you let the game load before quitting.
    • Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain models for video enhancement.
  • Intel Core Ultra with Intel Arc Graphics Products:
    • Field corruptions may be observed on Diablo 4 (DX12).
    • Crashes may occur when loading Avatar: Frontier of Pandora (DX12).
    • In-game crashes may occur on Helldivers 2 (DX12).
    • Crashes may occur on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves (DX12) after loading into gameplay.
    • When launching the SPECAPC benchmark on Autodesk Maya, the software may crash.
    • With certain memory configurations, Blender may crash when rendering certain scenes.
    • Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain templates for video enhancement.
    • Procyon AI may crash when the benchmark is run with Float32 precision.
  • Intel Core Processor (12th-14th Generation) Products :
    • Sporadic crashes can be observed on Dragon Quest X Online (DX9).
