Gigabyte sets a new overclocking world record. The brand has set a new record in the RAM frequency category. HiCookie, armed with a Z790 Tachyon, managed to reach 11254.6 MT/s. If you’re keeping track, he’s beaten the previous record set by Seby9123 in the final of the G.Skill OC World Cup !

HiCoolie pushes its RAM to 11254.6 MT/s with its Z790 Tachyon!

Gigabyte Z790 TachyonTo achieve this record, HiCookie was armed with Gigabyte’s famous card and a Core i9 13900K. However, when recording on HWBot, he indicated that the CPU was running at 803.9 MHz. Even so, liquid nitrogen was used during the operation.

As for memory, theoverclocker turned not to a G.Skill kit, but to Gigabyte memory. The latter, bearing the product number “ARS32G5D83”, was air-cooled and operated in single-channel mode. During the exercise, the RAM spun at 5627.3 MHz with latencies of 64-127-127-127-127-2. Note that this was originally a kit running at 5600 MT/s.

In short, with a record, Gigabyte’s motherboard proves very playful when overclocking. On the other hand, for a board designed for overclocking, the opposite would have been a shame. On the other hand, DDR5 has not finished surprising us!
