The SSD mode now welcomes the XS70 from Silicon Power. It is a new reference that comes to play on the performance field. What does this new reference in M.2 format offer? We take a look at it.

XS70: up to 6.8 GB/s for the new SSD from Silicon Power!

Silicon Power XS70With this new model, the brand puts forward an SSD in M.2 2280 format with a heatsink. The heatsink, as we can see, plays the card of sobriety with gray and black tones. This is enough to go everywhere easily, especially since it has a limited height of 10.8 mm.

Nevertheless, what interests us most here is the data sheet. In this regard, we know that we are talking about a model with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. If the memory controller and the type of NAND used are not known, we know that the performance is good… At least on paper. Indeed, the brand highlights a sequential read of 7.3 GB / s and a write of 6.8 GB / s.

For the moment, we have no idea of the prices that will be charged at the launch. On the other hand, this XS70 series comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. Let’s not forget to mention the capacities which are 1TB, 2TB and 4TB as well as its compatibility with the PlayStation 5!
