Will NAND Flash Prices Stabilize in 2027?

At the moment, the memory market is under significant strain due to extremely high demand from the AI sector. Indeed, this industry consumes enormous amounts of memory—RAM, for one—but it also requires substantial amounts of GPUs and storage. As a result, demand exceeds supply and prices are rising. This is what we’ve been seeing since July 2025. However, a TrendForce report sees a glimmer of hope on the NAND Flashfront , with prices expected to ease soon.

NAND Flash: Are Prices Set to Ease?

Will production increase in 2027?

NAND Flash

First and foremost, it’s important to note that the expected price easing appears to primarily concern NAND Flash memory. As a reminder, this is the type of memory used in SSDs and USB flash drives, for example. As for RAM kits, the situation is expected to remain unchanged; some analysis, such as those by ADATA’s CEO, suggest that supply constraints for RAM could persist for another 10 years—only time will tell.

In any case, there are rumors that the range of products featuring this type of memory should expand as manufacturers improve their yield rates. This will involve a shift to more advanced fabrication processes, which will ultimately boost production capacity. We’ve learned that manufacturers in South Korea (Samsung and SK Hynix), the U.S. (Micron), and China (YMTC and CXMT) are also expanding their production lines—a win-win situation here.

But no price collapse?

While tensions in this sector are expected to ease, we shouldn’t expect a sudden price collapse. On the contrary, prices are expected to decline gradually as more memory chips enter the market. This is expected to occur during the second half of 2027.

Of course, the server sector is expected to be a major consumer of memory, with its market share projected to grow next year: 51.1% compared to 44.2% this year. In contrast, the PC market is expected to shrink from 14.3% to 11.5%, and the same is true for the mobile market (24.8% versus 23.2%). In short, by 2027, the server market is expected to be the largest consumer of memory!
