Western Digital has unveiled a new series of SSDs, the SN_BLACK SN7100, with a capacity of up to 4TB! However, there’s no originality in the composition of the SSD, particularly in terms of the interface.

WD_BLACK SN7100: a wide range of capacities!

Western Digital WD_Black SN7100The least we can say is that Western Digital offers a wide range of capacities, with 512GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB versions. However, the 4TB version won’t be arriving until next year. Fortunately, we shouldn’t have to wait too long.

Otherwise, we’re dealing with a classic series, using 3D TLC memory. It also has a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Last but not least, these are so-called DRAMless models.

In terms of performance, we’re sticking with something fairly classic, with speeds reaching 7.25 GB/s in sequential read mode, compared with 6.9 GB/s in write mode. Random performance is given as 1M readIOPS and 1.4M writeIOPS.

The first prices are already known: $59.99 for 512 GB, $89.99 for 1 TB and $149.99 for 2 TB. All that remains is to find out how much the 4TB version will cost!
