In yesterday’s news, we reported that German brand Thermal Grizzly was showing a video of a new 3DMark benchmark on its stand. Today, UL Benchmark, which manages the 3DMark series, confirms the arrival of a new benchmark based on path tracing, as well as Thermal Grizzly’s sponsorship.
Here’s part of UL Benchmark ‘s press release:
“For almost three decades, 3DMark has been an indispensable tool for many PC gamers and overclockers. We’ve always strived to make 3DMark one of the premier ways for gamers to see how their PC is capable of handling the next evolution of PC gaming, by integrating the latest technologies available to game developers and designing our tests around what the future of gaming will look like.
We’re delighted to announce a new, fully path tracing-based benchmark for 3DMark. This benchmark works both in native 4K resolution and with a choice of upscaling and AI-based image generation technologies offered by several vendors, making it easy to see how each approach evolves and compares.
We are very pleased to announce that the first sponsor of this future benchmark is Thermal Grizzly. Thermal Grizzly is a company based in Germany, renowned for its high-performance cooling solutions and accessories designed for PC enthusiasts”.
We don’t yet have a precise launch date, but UL Benchmark is announcing in a few months’ time.
