UD80: Silicon Power SSD in PCIe 3.0 x4

0

The Silicon Power brand announces the arrival of a new series of SSD with its UD80 models. The program includes SSDs in M.2 format, but with a PCIe 3.0 interface. Let’s have a look at it!

UD80: PCIe 3.0 SSD with up to 2TB capacity!

Silicon Power UD80With this new batch of SSDs, the Silicon Power brand offers us no less than four new products. These products have capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB for the biggest of the series. In terms of format, the brand does not shake up the game with models in M.2 2280 format. Finally, you should know that they are equipped with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.

In terms of performance, it will not climb as high as the models in PCIe 4.0 x4. However, Silicon Power announces sequential speeds of up to 3400 MB/s in reading and 3000 MB/s in writing. Of course, depending on the capacity, these values may be revised downwards. Unfortunately, the brand does not communicate on the random performance.

The same goes for the type of memory used, and the same goes for the controller. However, we know that the memory uses 3D-NAND, that its SSDs have an SLC cache and that there is an LDPC system.

As for the price, it’s the same story, it’s all a blur.

This way to the Silicon Power datasheet!
