The Thermal Grizzly brand is announcing new products: thermal putty. In simple terms, these are particularly thick pastes designed to fill the gaps between components and heatsinks. This solution is intended to replace thermal pads as we know them.

Thermal Grizzly thermal putty to replace thermal pads!

Thermal Grizzly Mastique thermiqueThe aim of this new product is to fill the gaps between a cooling system and a component. Typically, this is the kind of product that will be used on a graphics card, since this sealant can fill gaps ranging from 0.2 to 3 mm! Clearly, it will replace conventional thermal pads as we know them.

What’s more, the non-conductive nature of this solution means that it can be applied to conventional memory chips, but also to the card’s power supply stage, for example. For the GPU, the best solution is still conventional thermal paste as we know it.

For the application, the brand indicates that you can use the spatula supplied. With this, you can spread over large surfaces. Alternatively, it can be applied by hand, although gloves are recommended. Small balls of sealant can be formed by hand and applied to the components to be cooled. The pressure applied by the cooling system will spread the product.

The brand markets its product in small 30g pots, all of which come with a spatula as mentioned earlier. Three variants are offered with different conductivities. Although the figures are not given, we know that the pink putty, the basic one, offers average conductivity and retails at $16.24. The blue putty offers good conductivity and comes in at $27.14. Finally, the best putty, grey, offers excellent conductivity, according to the brand’s website.
