The minimum and recommended system requirements for STALKER 2 are now known. The studio behind the game has just published the prerequisites needed to play the title in good conditions. Will you need a war machine to reach 60 fps in 1080p? Let’s find out!

STALKER 2: the recommended configuration is pretty muscular!

STALKER 2Very often, when a game’s development is rather chaotic, we get scared. This was clearly the case here, and yet the Low configuration is quite affordable. For 1080p gaming at 30 FPS, this configuration features a Ryzen 5 1600X or Core i7 7700K, as well as GTX 1060 6 GB, RX 580 8 GB and Arc A750, plus a total of 16 GB RAM.

In the midrange, same resolution, but at 60 fps, the prerequisites are a little more demanding. On the processor side, we’ve switched to more recent 8-core models: Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7 9700K. On the graphics card side, we also mention the RTX 4060, as well as the RTX 2070 Super and RX 5700 XT. For RAM, however, we still have 16 GB of memory.

In terms of recommended configuration (1440p @60 FPS), we’re talking about a Core i7 11700 or a Ryzen 7 5800X. However, you’ll need a recent graphics card, as RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 4070 and RX 6800 XT are mentioned. As for memory, 32 GB seems to be required.

Finally, the Epic configuration (2160p @60 FPS) doesn’t cut any corners. Here, you’ll need a very recent CPU. Core i7 13700K and Ryzen 7 7700X are on display. As for the graphics card, we’re going for the top of the range, with RTX 4080 and RX 7900 XTX, while we’ve still got 32 GB RAM for memory.

Let’s hope that these configurations are realistic and actually allow us to play the game. In some cases, publishers/developers announce configurations that are light-years away from reality. And don’t forget to make room on your storage media: 160 GB of free space is required.
