Until now, Ryzen X3Ds have not been overclockable, but with this new generation of processors, things have changed completely. With hardware from MSI, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D can be clocked at around 7.241 GHz! Just goes to show that AMD has done its homework, so much so that the new X3D processors are OC’d like the others!

Ryzen 7 9800X3D: no more problems with overclocking!

The programme features Taiwanese overclocker TSAIK with its Godlike MEG X870E and 9800X3D. The latter pushed its processor to a frequency never seen before for a model equipped with 3D V-Cache memory, with the CPU rising to 7.241 GHz! However, to achieve such high frequencies, he deactivated his processor’s hyperthreading. In addition to this, we have a multiplication coefficient of x70 and a BCLK of 103.46 GHz.

Of course, to maintain such a high frequency, liquid nitrogen was used for cooling. On the other hand, it was necessary, especially when you see the VCore of 1.969V reported by CPU-Z… Clearly, things were going to get very hot!

Unfortunately, this is simply a frequency increase, and the processor doesn’t seem to have passed any tests or anything. However, we’re curious to see what an overclocked 9800X3D can score in benchmarks. It remains to be seen whether this model will arouse interest among clockers.
