As most of the leaks mentioned, the new AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT card was announced last night at the ChinaJoy 2021.

RX 6600 XT

The card is aimed at 1080P gaming and should compete with the RTX 3060. Obviously if we are to believe the Reds own measurements, its new card is faster than the NVIDIA model in 10 major titles (max 1080p settings with ReBar enabled on each card).

RX 6600 XT: An interesting “theoretical” price

This new “small” card is powered by a single 8-pin power connector and its TDP does not exceed 160W. The card will be released on August 11th and only AMD’s partners models will be available (no reference design for this new card). The announced price is 379$, we will obviously have to observe the real positioning of this card on the market while several sources tell us that Nvidia is currently working hard to supply the market with RTX 3060 for the summer and the fall.

With FSR and a controlled price, will this RX 6600 XT be a wise choice?

On the technical side, the Radeon RX 6600 XT uses the Navi 23 XT GPU with 2048 stream processors. The frequencies communicated are from 2359 to 2589 MHz (Turbo). The card comes equipped with 8 GB GDDR6 memory at 16 GHz on a 128-bit interface. 32 MB of Infinity Cache help the whole and we get a bandwidth of 256 GB/s.

With this new card, the segmentation proposed by AMD is relatively complete. The arrival of the FSR makes it even more relevant. It is now up to us to give you the figures of our real tests as soon as possible, which we will do in August when we can officially publish. Let’s keep in mind that its competitor the RTX 3060 was launched at 339€ in public price… A public price which until now looks more like an urban legend than a commercial reality.
