The RTX 4080 is not selling

According to Moore’s Law is Dead, the RTX 4080 is quite simply a marketing disaster. Indeed, the card simply isn’t selling, so much so that some retailers haven’t renewed their stock for months!

The RTX 4080, a big flop!

RTX 4080According to our leaker, a number of retailers are complaining about the card’s catastrophic sales. In fact, some dealers have told the videographer that they’ve simply stopped ordering cards. For others, the card simply isn’t selling, and they don’t know if they’ll keep it in stock next year. Worse still, for some NVIDIA partners, it’s simply the worst-selling high-end board.

Apparently, these low sales are also one of the reasons why NVIDIA is preparing a refresh series of its lineup. Perhaps if we get the high-end sector moving, things will ease up, who knows?

In the meantime, gamers seem to prefer to fall back on the RTX 4090. On closer inspection, this model offers a better price/performance ratio. It’s also a card that offers more VRAM. That is, until now. Clearly, prices for the 4090 are on the way up. Count on $1780 for a first-price card. Clearly, the greens are cutting back on production to drive up prices and encourage customers to switch to 4080s.

What’s more, the competition is just as fierce for this card, with AMD offering its RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX at very aggressive prices. At Newegg, for example, the XTX is priced at $950, while a 7900 XT at the lower end of the market costs $800.
