MSI has announced a new range of SSDs, the Spatium M570, with models in M.2 format with a PCIe Gen5 interface. Of course, with this new interface, the performance is certainly there. We are talking about sequential speeds of 10GB/s!
Spatium M570: SSDs with 10GB/s!
For this occasion, MSI announced two SSDs with capacities of 1TB and 2TB. Both models are in M.2 2280 format and have a PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. In all cases, we are treated to an aluminium heatsink with a nice bronze colour. With the heatsink the dimensions of the SSDs are 80 (W) x 22 (D) x 20.4 (H) mm.
Internally, there’s a Phison E26 memory controller and we find 2GB DRAM cache for the 1TB version as opposed to 4GB for the 2TB model. This cache uses LPDDR4 memory.
In terms of performance, the brand’s data sheet mentions :
- 1TB :
- Sequential read/write: 9.5 GB/s / 8.5 GB/s
- Random read/write: 1,300,000 IOPS / 1,500,000 IOPS
- 2 TB :
- Sequential read/write: 10 GB/s / 10 GB/s
- Random read/write: 1,400,000 IOPS / 1,500,000 IOPS
Finally, for endurance, MSI states 700 TBW for the 1TB version and 1400 TBW for the 2TB model.
