Sandisk was a memory company that was quite popular a few years ago, particularly for its 2.5″ SATA SSDs. However, in 2016, it was bought out, absorbed by Western Digital and ended up disappearing (or almost disappearing) in 2020. However, like a phoenix, the company rose from the ashes, with Western Digital announcing a demerger in 2023. In the times to come, we should see a resurgence of the brand!

As part of this process of splitting up, two websites have been created, one for each brand. While Western Digital ‘s website will focus on everything to do with hard disks and NAS solutions, the second will cover everything to do with flash memory (memory cards, USB sticks, SSDs, etc.).

However, this does not mean that Western Digital has stopped working in the SSD sector, no, it simply means a change in the way SSDs are marketed. What’s more, customer support for flash drives will be provided by Sandisk. Similarly, if you had a customer account at Western Digital, you’ll also have one at shop.SanDisk.com with the same email address. All you have to do is reset the password.

What’s more, this spin-off doesn’t mean the end of SSDs at Western Digital either, it simply makes it possible to restore a little clarity in terms of who does what… To bring a little more structure to the whole.
