The more time passes and the closer we get to the launch of the Ryzen 7000. In fact, the closer we get to their launch, the more leaks we should have about them. Anyway, today, via a guy on Twitter, we can see one of these CPUs running on a B650 board from MSI with a very big VCore!
Ryzen 7000 : a 1.5V VCore for a CPU running on a B650 !
Of course, all this is to be taken with a pinch of salt when you see the leak. Nevertheless, the account @9550pro account on Twitter shares with us a screenshot showing a CPU running on a MAG B650. It also shows a very, very large VCore of 1.532V and of course, this is an engineering sample.
In short, it is difficult to be exhaustive behind all this. However, this can be interpreted in several ways. Either, the copy was tested to see what it gave in its last steps (in OC for example). Or it is time to build up a nice portfolio of EDF shares. In any case, this is not a definitive model, especially since we don’t even know how many cores this processor has.
As a reminder, with this 7000 series, AMD will propose a new socket: the AM5, which will be in LGA (pins on the socket). Regarding the engraving, we will have the right to 5 nm from TSMC and we can expect gains in IPC of 25% according to our spanish colleagues. In addition, AMD is targeting 5.00 GHz and will continue to offer CPUs with up to 16 cores. This choice could well make the TDP explode from 105W with the Ryzen 5000 to 170W for this generation.
Finally, we can count on support for DDR5 memory (5200 MT/s) and PCIe 5.0 up to 28 lines. The same goes for AVX-512 instructions, USB 4.0, etc. If this is confirmed, it should be a blast.
