While rumors abound about future RTX 50s, mobile versions are not to be outdone. This time, we learn that the RTX 5090 mobile, designed for notebook PCs, could well offer 24 GB of VRAM!

RTX 5090 mobile: lots of VRAM!

RTX 5090 mobileAccording to Moore’s Law is Dead and @anthony256, NVIDIA’s future spearhead, the 5090 mobile, could well arrive with massive memory capacity. In fact, we’re talking about a GPU backed by 24 GB of GDDR7 with a 256-bit memory bus. Clearly, we wouldn’t have any VRAM capacity problems with such a model, since it represents the same amount of memory as the RX 7900 XTX or the desktop RTX 4090.

As for the GPU, don’t expect to see a desktop chip in laptop format. Rumor has it that the company is offering its card with a 377 mm² GB203. While the chip configuration is not known, the leaker tells us that its release is planned for somewhere around the second quarter of 2025. Clearly, the Chameleon is waiting for the availability of 3 GB memory chips (8 chips in total) before bringing its GPU to market.

Finally, the launch of mobile GPUs could well take place in several stages, with an appearance at CES. The chameleon would take advantage of this to unveil inferior models such as the RTX 5080m or RTX 5070m in Las Vegas. Then, at Computex, we could talk about the RTX 5090m once the 3GB VRAM chips are available. At least, that’s what’s being reported.
