RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB: a mixed reception from partners

Clearly, the launch of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will also be a mixed affair… And this time, the cause comes directly from NVIDIA’s partners. They seem unconvinced by this version with more VRAM. As a result, few customized versions will be offered.

RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB: a few custom versions, no more!

According to Andreas Schilling (HardwareLuxx) on Twitter, NVIDIA’s partners are not very interested in promoting the card. According to him, it’s a model that simply serves as a counter-argument for those complaining about the low VRAM count of the original 4060 Ti. In fact, in terms of features, it’s exactly that. In fact, the card shares the same GPU, the same memory bus and a more or less identical TDP. On the other hand, you’ll have to contend with a much higher price tag: $100, with this model going from $399 to $499… Ouch.

You can imagine that with this model, brands are likely to compete with themselves. That’s right, because the redesigned versions cost a certain amount of money, which could put them in a dangerous position vis-à-vis the first-price RTX 4070s. Let’s not forget that the official price of the RTX 4070 is $599, which leaves little room for brands to apply their cooling.

What’s more, don’t be fooled by the doubling of VRAM between the cards – it won’t boost your FPS by a dazzling amount. On its own, this card already promises a disastrous performance-to-price ratio, and we can understand the reluctance of AIBs to take a look at this model.
