We stay with MSI which announces two new graphics cards with its small RTX 3050 Aero ITX and RTX 3050 Ventus 2X. So we stay on the “entry-level” card at least, if we base ourselves on the NVIDIA nomenclature and not on the price… But otherwise, what does MSI offer us?
RTX 3050 Aero ITX: a small card of 17.2 cm in length!
With this card, MSI puts forward an ultra compact model with a reduced length of only 17.2 cm. Nevertheless, the concept is already known: make the card as short as possible so that it fits into the smallest cases! The bet is successful since the card occupies only two slots too!
The heatsink remains quite simple since it has only one fan. As for the heatsink, it has aluminum fins crossed by heat pipes… At least two according to the photo.
Regarding the frequencies, we have a choice of two versions: a first non-OC. It works at 1777 MHz in boost when the factory overclocked version displays a boost to 1807 MHz. In both cases, the 8 GB of GDDR6 go up to 14 Gbps.
RTX 3050 Ventus 2X: a bit bigger, but not a monster either!
This card is slightly bigger since its length is now 235 mm. Moreover, these 235 mm allow it to have a larger heatsink with two fans. Also, the aluminum fin block is larger and needs more heatpipes.
Nevertheless, despite a larger fan, the frequencies remain identical to the Aero ITX OC version. The boost goes up to 1807 MHz and the VRAM remains at 14 Gbps.
We finish quickly with the connectivity which highlights DisplayPort and HDMI. On the power supply side, an 8-pin PCIe remains necessary, like the Aero version.
