RADEON 890M as good as the GTX 1070?

Progressively, iGPUs are becoming more and more powerful. Now, via Geekbench, we can see that the RADEON 890M, the iGPU of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, is on a par with NVIDIA’s GTX 1070.

RADEON 890M: performance on a par with the GTX 1070!

RADEON 890M

In the Geekbench database, you can find the score of a RADEON 890M iGPU. This dedicated graphics unit benefits from a total of 16 compute units and 1024 stream processors, all under RDNA3 architecture.

All in all, this configuration scores 42,932 pts in OpenCL and 46,298 pts in Vulkan.

In fact, this iGPU proves to be as fast as the RX 580 (copy error?) with its 41,991 pts, while titillating laptop ‘s GTX 1650 Ti (44,708 pts). Under Vulkan, it’s a different kettle of fish, as AMD’siGPU hits hard and goes toe-to-toe with NVIDIA’s GTX 1070, a dedicated card released 8 years ago (already!). Of course, the other cards are out of the running with this API, be it the GTX 1650 Ti (40,613 pts), or the RX 5500 (38,138 pts).

Finally, this iGPU was tested on an ASUS ProArt P16 laptop. In absolute terms, the Vulkan score is also 35.4% higher than that of the Intel 140V, which scored 34,181 pts under the same API.
