Cougar Gaming announces its Poseidon Elite aRGB series of watercooling kits. TheAIOs come in 240 mm and 360 mm sizes, in white or black, so there’s something for everyone!
Poseidon Elite aRGB: a radiator with square fins!
In themselves, Cougar’s kits aren’t revolutionary for the genre. They consist of a pump attached to two pipes connected to a radiator. The latter is available in 240 mm or 360 mm, with a 27 mm-thick aluminum construction. However, the brand is trying something new with square fins. It remains to be seen what impact these will have on performance, given the greater contact with the channels.
As for the pump, we know that it is powered via a 3-pin plug and will run at up to 2700 rpm. What’s more, it has a copper base and is compatible with Intel sockets LGA-1851/1700/1200/115X/1366, as well as all AMD platforms up to AM2. In itself, 1851 compatibility is hardly surprising, given the 1700’s similar dimensions.
Finally, ventilation is provided by two or three fans operating at up to 2200 rpm. At full speed, these will generate an airflow of 62.53 CFM, while static pressure rises to 2.4 mmH2O.
Once again, pricing remains to be seen.
