After offering power supplies from the AMP GH series, Phanteks is now offering cooling. On the program, the brand announces its Polar ST heatsinks. Two 120 mm models at affordable prices!
Polar ST: affordable 120 mm heatsinks at last!
This series comes in two models: the more basic ST4 and the slightly better-finished ST5.
In both cases, we’re dealing with two heatsinks of fairly similar dimensions: 120 (W) x 50 (D) x 154 to 154.5 (H) mm. On the ventilation side, we find an MD25-120 D-RGB mill. This model has a maximum speed of 2000 rpm. At full speed, it will generate an airflow of 84.26 CFM and a static pressure of 2.67 mmH2O.
The radiator is finished in an attractive all-black finish. However, the ST5 datasheet is a little confused. In fact, it mentions the presence of four 6 mm copper heatpipes, whereas the visuals of the heatsink show five! On the other hand, on the ST4 side, there’s no mistake: we have four six-millimeter-diameter heatpipes. In all cases, they are mounted in direct contact with the CPU.
In terms of price, the ST4 comes as a pleasant surprise at €24.90, compared with €29.90 for the ST5. In fact, it’s a model to keep an eye on, since for €30 you can get a heatsink with potentially five heat pipes, a 120 mm fan and an attractive finish – that’s banger!
