We continue with a news placed under the sign of SSD with Crucial. Indeed, the brand announces a new series with its P5 Plus. A new batch with capacities up to 2Tb, all in PCIe 4.0. In short, rather classic until now.
P5 Plus: up to 5 GB/s write speed for Crucial’s SSD!
With this new series, Crucial announces no less than three new SSDs. They have capacities of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB for the biggest one. You may have guessed it, but these P5 Plus come in an M.2 2280 format and have a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. Internally, we will find 3D TLC memory signed Micron in 176 layers. Unfortunately, nothing is said about the controller that works within this SSD.
However, we have a small idea of the sequential speeds for each of these products. So, no matter what the capacity of the SSD is, it will always read at 6.6 GB/s. For writing, the 1TB and 2TB versions will go up to 5GB/s against 3GB/s for the 500GB model.
Before moving on to the price, a quick word on the endurance of these models where we find :
- 500 GB : 300 TBW
- 1Tb : 600 TBW
- 2Tb : 1200 TBW
On the price side, the 500GB version is priced at $107.99 against $179.99 for the 1TB and $367.99 for the 2TB. Finally, the manufacturer’s warranty is 5 years.
