Tuesday was devoted to a visit from our friends at ASUS France, who once again pulled out all the stops. In previous years, we had been welcomed in a warehouse, and this year it was on the Oceandiva Nova, a ship moored on the Rhine and boasting no less than 2625 square meters spread over three floors
The brand’s idea was to bring together some of its products in this exceptional location, which we were able to bring to you yesterday live via our Discord. We’d like to take this opportunity to warmly thank Thomas from ASUS France for the invitation and his availability during our visit
This exceptional venue was also the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ASUS graphics cards. On site, we were able to enjoy drinks, prepared food and pastries before the press conference, which started at 2.30pm. I won’t say how many “snacks” we had that afternoon, but one thing’s for sure: we weren’t thirsty
The press conference focused mainly on the 30th anniversary of ASUS graphics cards, with a number of speakers, including Jackie HSU and John Milner, present to represent NVIDIA.
The first hour of the conference ended with the presentation of the brand-new ROG MATRIX RTX 5090, which we hope you’ll be able to discover in the coming weeks, despite its limited edition of 1000 units. There’s also the chance to win one of the many prizes up for grabs by ASUS, worth up to $7,000, including a one-off copy of the ROG Astral RTX 5090 32GB WHITE OC Edition signed by NVIDIA’s Big Boss, Jensen Huang!
Once the conference was over, we had access to the area dedicated to ASUS components, which we’ve already started to tell you about, but which we’ll come back to in more detail this week. But here’s a little video of the atmosphere that afternoon, just to keep you waiting. We left the ship at around 6:30 p.m., heading for the banks of the Rhine, which, we have to admit, is very lively in the evening. We had the impression that the entire population of Cologne gathered on the banks of the Rhine in the evening. If you’re lucky enough to be in the area, we’d like to give a special mention to our evening restaurant, Sticky Fingers
We returned to our hotel at around 8:30 p.m. to recharge our PCs and smartphones, and above all our batteries. In a few hours’ time, we’ll be bringing you our Gamescom impressions!
