NZXT is launching a new service with its Flex PCs. In layman’s terms, we’re talking about a gaming PC rental service that includes a hardware upgrade service to ensure you always stay at the top of your game. The question is, would you rent your hardware rather than own it?
Gaming PCs for hire from NZXT!
Broadly speaking, NZXT offers gaming PCs for hire. For the moment, there are three machines on offer :
- Player: One Flex ($59/month) :
- Core i5 12400F
- RTX 3050
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM at 3200 MT/s
- 500 GB M.2 SSD
- Player: Two Flex ($119/month) :
- Ryzen 5 5600X
- RTX 4070
- 12 GB DDR4 RAM at 3200 MT/s
- 1 TB M.2 SSD
- Player: Three Flex ($169/month) :
- Core i7 13700KF
- RTX 4070 Ti
- 32 GB DDR5 RAM at 5600 MT/s
- 1 TB M.2 SSD
Of course, the arguments in favour of this type of rental remain financial. The brand says it’s an ideal service for anyone who can’t afford to invest in a gaming machine. This is only true at a given moment, since over time, rental will cost you more than a purchase, even in several instalments.
The company also puts forward other arguments, such as 24/7 support, a lifetime warranty and a PC upgrade service every two years.
Behind all this, you also have to accept that you don’t own your hardware. However, NZXT points out that you can cancel your lease at any time at no extra cost, which is not possible when you are embarking on a long-term purchase… In x4 or x20 instalments for example.
In short, it’s a solution that’s out there, so whether you like it or not, it’s up to you.
This way to the NZXT rental service!
