Fractal Design announces a new case model with its North. It is a medium tower reference with noble materials, especially at the front. We are talking about wooden parts. Clearly, this gives a certain elegance to this new model.

North: wood for the façade!

With this model, the brand offers a model in medium tower format whose dimensions are as follows: 215 (W) x 447 (D) x 469 (H) mm. On its side, the weight is 7.6 kg for the mesh version against 7.7 kg for the tempered glass model.

Visually speaking, we are dealing with a sober case, very sober even. However, elegance is the order of the day with the presence of wood for the front. In black, we find vertical strips in walnut against oak for the white version. In short, noble wood species.

Inside, we find the usual layout with a motherboard support(ATX) positioned above the power supply. On the graphics card side, the latter benefits from a space of 355 mm without radiator at the front or 300 mm with. For the CPU cooler, we have up to 170 mm, 145 mm with the fan support placed right in front ( mesh version only).

The storage part remains classic with four storage slots. We have two 3.5″/2.5″ baskets as well as two 2.5″ trays at the back of the motherboard tray.

For cooling, the case arrives with two Aspect 140 fans installed in the front as standard. It will be possible to complete the ventilation via the addition of two fans in 120/140 mm in the top and a 120 mm in the rear. As far as watercooling is concerned, the radiator support stops at 360 mm max in front.

We finish briefly with the prices. The case is then displayed at $129.99 on newegg in the USand in Europe LDLC 189.95 in white and black, with tempered glass panel! Check out Fractal’s Designs cases on Amazon.com
