Until now, MSI has been the big absentee from AMD’s RX 7900 series customs launch. However, things are changing as the brand unveils cards at CES in Las Vegas. However, these come with an older generation heatsink.

RX 7900 Series: MSI’s cards, but with an “old” heatsink!

From what we can see via TechpowerUp the cards proposed by MSI are not really new. Indeed, the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX display a heatsink of old generation since we found it on the RX 6000 and RTX 3000 hence the name ” Gaming Trio Classic “.

Compared to what is currently done we find fans labeled Torx 4.0 mounted on a Tri Frozr 2.0 heatsink. However, this should do the trick since the new generations of AMD have a maximum TDP of 355W. However, the heatsink of the brand has been designed to hold equivalent values if we believe our colleagues.

Finally, we will be able to count on an in-house printed circuit with a power supply based on triple 8-pin PCIe . And as far as video outputs are concerned, we can see that the cards have two HDMI as well as two DisplayPort!

It remains to be seen when MSI will launch its cards, however, it’s a pity that there is no more novelty… Especially after choosing to skipper the Made-By-AMD(MBA) cards.
