From MSI, we learn that the company is announcing a new series of graphics cards. This series, according to the translation, is called Shadow X3 Phantom, because yes, it’s a range exclusive to China. The latter features a sober fairing, but above all a compact format to fit into the brand’s SFF cases!
Shadow X3 Phantom: an MSI series for China!
As you can see, with this range, MSI has opted for a sober design with a full black fairing. There’s no RGB or other gimmicks here, just a shell and backplate without lighting, which will delight fans of sober machines.
The cooling system, for its part, remains simple, featuring a large aluminum fin block with Core Pipe heat pipes running through it. The base, in nickel-plated copper, cools the GPU and memory. Three Torx 5.0 fans provide the airflow.
From a dimensional point of view, the board is compact, and in fact complies with NVIDIA SFF-Ready specifications. This translates into dimensions of 303 (W) x 121 (D) x 49 (H) mm. The card will therefore occupy just over two slots in a case… However, many ITX cases already accept this graphics card format.
The cards are also available in overclocked and non-OC versions. For the moment, only two models have been announced: an RTX 5080 and an RTX 5070 Ti, with respective boost frequencies of 2655 MHz (38 MHz) and 2497 MHz (45 MHz).
Finally, you should know that with this range, the brand is launching cards that don’t belong to the launch series (Suprim, Gaming, Vanguard, etc.). It’s a completely new range, aimed at the Asian market. It remains to be seen whether MSI will offer something similar in Europe.
