MSI MAJ Bios X670 B650 - Memory Context Restore

The next update of the bios of MSI motherboards should contain a new feature. This feature, named Memory Context Restore, should drastically reduce the boot time of your PC.

With a configuration based on MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi, Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 16GB of DDR5 @6000 MT/s with EXPO profiles, the initial boot time was about 43 secs. Once the option is activated, the boot time drops to 22 seconds, almost half of what it used to be. When you have to turn on the PC in a hurry, it counts!

Temps de démarrage

However, the brand is not very talkative about how this feature works. We only know that it avoids re-training the memory at startup, which saves precious seconds. Moreover, we learn that it is a feature that was present on the old platforms of the brand.

For the moment, this feature does not seem to be present. The last bios update was mainly for Ryzen 7000X3D which brought optimizations for them. We talked about it here.
