MSI Claw: BIOS upgrade improves performance!

On the portable console front, MSI has released a new BIOS update for its Claw. Clearly, this update is beneficial, as the console’s performance has been improved by up to 30%. As a result, it outperforms the ROG Ally Z1.

Claw: BIOS upgrade, more performance!

This new BIOS update, 109, coupled with an MSI Center M upgrade, significantly improves the console’s gaming performance. In fact, the brand is announcing gains of up to 30%. These gains are particularly noticeable on titles such as Fortnite, Forza Horizon 5 and Helldiver 2, which didn’t pass 60 FPS (according to MSI settings) and now average 87.3 FPS, 77.5 FPS and 62.8 FPS respectively.

However, these gains also enable the console to titillate the ROG Ally, the version with a non-extreme Ryzen Z1. In games such as Valheim or Euro Truck Simulator 2, ASUS’ console is the PLS. This enables MSI to claim that its machine outperforms its competitor’s console by around 26%.

As a reminder, MSI’s Claw is a console already available on the market. It is currently available in two versions, one with a Core Ultra 5, the other with an Ultra 7. However, the smaller model is preferable, as there’s little difference in the performance of the on-board iGPU.
