Things are moving on the Chinese graphics card front with the Moore Threads brand. Although the MTT S models weren’t particularly convincing at launch, they have gained in functionality as their drivers have matured. This time, we learn that the cards gain support for Microsoft DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.2!
DirectX 12 and OptenGL 4.2 support added to Moore Threads boards!
With the launch of the latest drivers (v280.90), the Chinese boards are gaining in functionality. This time, we find the addition of DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.2 support in Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments. What’s more, the latest version of the driver offers an optimized gaming experience for Black Myth: Wukong, a game that has been a big hit in China, in addition to Civ VI, Asphalt: Legends, Delta Force and Hades 2. In the professional sector, support is also provided for the new DirectX12 graphics engine SketchUp Pro 2024.
Little by little, the software is evolving and the cards are making their way. In fact, it’s this driver part that significantly improves card performance… At least, that’s what was announced by the company behind the MTT S models. However, at present, the performance offered by this model is below that of an Intel Arc A380 (10-game average), if PCGH is to be believed.
