Let’s head to the mobile world with the results of GFXBench tests on an Intel Arc 140T. The latter shows a clear improvement in performance compared to the Arc 140V currently used in Intel’s Lunar Lake processors.
Arc 140T: up to 60% more performance?
If the results are anything to go by, this new iGPU is going to perform very well, with a clear increase in performance. In fact, compared with the Arc 140V in 16GB, we’re looking at gains of up to 70.7%, as seen on Aztec Ruins (normal quality) in off-screen mode. Of course, the readings vary, with a maximum difference of 17.74% in favour of the 140T, again on the same test, but in high quality.
In short, it now remains to be seen what the reasons are for such a difference in performance. In fact, both graphics chips share the same configuration with 8 Xe2 cores. However, we can assume that this model is not intended for the same processors. While the 140V would be found in Lunar Lakes for energy-efficient machines, the 140T could, according to our colleagues, be destined for Arrow Lake-H/HX processors where performance might be more important.
On the other hand, Guru3D also mentions higher-performance transistors that would enable higher frequencies. This is another avenue to follow.
