On Colorful’s side, we’ll be highlighting the announcement of the iGame Z790D5 Vulcan. This is a top-of-the-range motherboard of Chinese origin, but with all the hallmarks of a Taiwanese motherboard. Clearly, the brand is pulling out all the stops, and it shows!

iGame Z790D5 Vulcan, a sublime card!

Colorful iGame Z790D5 VulcanOn the programme is an E-ATX reference available in black and white. As you can see, this reference benefits from numerous fairings and the design immediately brings to mind the biggest references in the field: ASUS Maximus/Crosshair Extreme, MSI Godlike, etc.

As you can see, the connectivity is minimal, with only a single PCIe 5.0 x16 visible. However, a second PCIe x16 (operating in 4.0 x4) and a small PCIe 3.0 x1 are also included. On the visuals, they are not present, they must be masked by the card’s shields.

As for memory, there are four DDR5 slots supporting up to 192 GB of RAM, all running at 7800 MT/s. Colorful lags slightly behind its Taiwanese rivals, Gigabyte not hesitating to go up to 8266 MT/s, for example.

As for storage, there’s plenty to do with four M.2s, one of which is PCIe 5.0 x4. These are complemented by six SATA III.

All the board’s components are mounted on an 8-layer ‘server class’ PCB. For the CPU power supply, there are a total of 19+1+1 power supply phases in 105A with Dr.MOS. All this is cooled by passive heatsinks with real aluminium fins! Other features dedicated to OC include LN² mode and Safe Boot.

The connectors on the right-hand side of the card are at 90°. This includes the 24-pin ATX, 6-pin PCIe, USB 3.0 and SATA as well as a few headers.

I/O connectivity will be very comprehensive, with two Ethernet chips: RTL8126-CG (5 GbE) and RTL8125BG (2.5 GbE), plus WiFi 7. Otherwise, you’ll find USB 4 Type C, plenty of USB 3.2 and 2.0, and HDMI and DisplayPort video outputs.

No price yet.
