Intel’s iBOT technology (Intelligent Binary Optimization Tool) continues to make headlines. This time, it’s not because it’s been flagged in anybenchmarks, but rather because its support is expanding to new games. In fact, seven new titles are now supported by this feature. We can expect significant performance gains: from 12% to 27% depending on the game and conditions. These gains are far from trivial!

Without further ado, here is the list of new supported games:
- Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition
- The Callisto Protocol
- Homeworld 3
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
- Little Nightmare III
- Warframe
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
For its part, Intel conducted tests to measure the benefits of its technology on final performance. To do this, measurements were taken at 1080p using an RTX 5090 and 32 GB ofDDR5 running at 7200 MT/s. The goal was to limitGPU bottlenecks to measure the actual impact on theCPU. The results show that, on average, games deliver 12% higher performance. These gains can reach up to 27% under ideal conditions.
How can you take advantage of this?
To benefit from this, you must first have compatible hardware. This includesCPUs from the Arrow Lake Refresh (desktop), Panther Lake (mobile), and new Core Ultra HX Plus (mobile) series. Next, you need to download the latest version of the Intel Platform Performance Package and enable the relevant games in the Advanced tab of the Intel Application Optimizationsoftware.
Here, the technology operates at the application binary level, where Intel creates specific optimization profiles. When used, iBOT improves instruction scheduling, workload execution, and resource utilization. Unfortunately, the technology relies on dedicated hardware registers that are not present in previous generations of CPUs. However, they will be included in future processor series.
