Gran Turismo soon on PC?

It’s now a Sony strategy to diversify its revenues: most of the PlayStation exclusive games are coming to PC. We’ve seen recently that these ports to PC are quite successful. However, there is still one emblematic Playstation title that is holding out: Gran Turismo. Not long ago, it could be said that it was the jewel in Sony’s crown…But the launch of the latest Gran Turismo 7, in March 2022, has unfortunately tarnished this image as the title has to deal with increasingly sharp competition.

le portage de Gran Turismo sur PC

So could a PC release “save” a franchise that has been with us for nearly 25 years? Its studio, Sony-owned Polyphony Digital, seems to think so. Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and producer of Gran Turismo, said at the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monaco that the PC would be the ideal platform to run his game at 4K resolution at 60 FPS native. When asked about a potential arrival of the title on PC, his answer makes it clear that everything is now possible:

“Yes, I think so. Gran Turismo is a very interesting title. There are not many platforms that can run the game at 4K 60 FPS natively… It’s not a very easy topic, but of course we are studying it and looking into it”

So we’ll obviously be watching all this carefully…Remembering that a few years ago Sony announced the death of the PC as a gaming platform.
