Gigabyte launches the first ITX motherboard to feature a new-generation AMD chipset. Indeed, when these new motherboards were launched, the mini-ITX format was the big absentee from the announcements. Gigabyte corrects this and unveils its X870I Aorus Pro Ice!
X870i Aorus Pro Ice: the first X870 ITX board!
On the program, we find a connectivity limited by the format. In fact, this model features a single PCIe 5.0 x16 connector. Storage is also entrusted to two SATA IIIs and two M.2s, one in PCIe 5.0 x4 and the other in PCIe 4.0 x4.
However, the brand’s rear connectivity is rather disappointing. Firstly, Ethernet remains at 2.5 GbE, while we only have a single USB 4. Otherwise, two USB-A 2.0, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 and two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 complete the picture. On the front, we also have a 10 Gbps USB-C.
To power the CPU, the board features 8+2+1-phase 110A power supplies, all mounted on a 10-layer PCB. On the memory side, we find two DDR5 DIMM slots accommodating up to 128 GB of memory running at 8400 MT/s.
All that remains now is to find out the retail price.
