As we told you at this address, the ROG Maximus Z890 Apex has been the source of numerous overclocking records. These include world records for memory frequency. By the way, the memory used was G.Skill RAM!
G.Skill RAM at 12,066 MT/s!
In the brand’s press release, we learn that several overclockers, BenchMarc, CENS, OGS and Dreadzone were able to get their hands on the brand’s RAM with a Z890 Apex and a Core Ultra 9 285K. However, while all of them were able to break the 12,000 MT/s barrier, only Benchmark came out on top, going just a tad further than the other three: 12,066 MT/s.
Indeed, OGS managed to push its kit to 12,046 MT/s, as did Dreadzone. Of the four, CENS was the slowest with 4 MT/s less: 12,042 MT/s.
However, while the press release doesn’t tell us which kit was at work, on the HWBot page we learn that it was Trident Z5 memory.
However, this record was short-lived, as in between, Taiwanese overclocker Kovan Yang took over the title, recording a Fury Renegade kit at 12,100 MT/s. The latter was running on an MSI Z890 Unify-X, an XOC reference which we tested for you at this address.
