From G.Skill, we’ll be highlighting the announcement of new memory kits with the arrival of Trident Z5 series sets. The brand is offering its memory in kits running at 6400 MT/s, all with rather low timings. In short, classy, high-performance RAM, we’ll take it!
Trident Z5 series: 6400 MT/s CL30 RAM!
The brand is offering kits from its Trident Z5 series. These kits are available in Z5 RGB and Z5 RGB, aimed more at the high-end sector, with a very attractive heatsink offering a mirror finish and a crystal-clear light bar. Of course, you need to be careful about the height of the heatsink, especially with an aircooling type of CPU cooler.
As far as specifications are concerned, we find here kits offering capacities of 96 GB, so double 48 GB. Frequency is 6400 MHz, with a CAS latency of 30. Naturally, these kits include XMP 3.0 profiles.
To demonstrate the stability of its RAM, tests were carried out on Intel and AMD platforms. On one side, we had a Core Ultra 7 265K paired with a Maximus Z890 Hero. On the other, we had a Ryzen 9 9800X3D paired with a Crosshair X870E Hero.
Finally, G.Skill plans to launch 64GB (2x32GB) and 48GB (2x12GB) kits. The launch is scheduled for the first quarter of the year.
CSO-DIMM memory too!
At the same time, we have learned of the announcement of new laptop memory kits with RAM in CSO-DIMM format. This incorporates the famous CKD found in CU-DIMM memory. In any case, this combination enables the brand to offer memory operating at 8133 MT/s, all in laptop format. In terms of timings, we’re talking about a CL46-52-52-130.
The brand naturally demonstrated its kit on an ASRock machine, the DeskMini B860 paired with a Core Ultra 9 285.
