Phanteks has just officially announced its new case, the Evolv S2, which we mentioned earlier. This time, we have the press release in French, and not promotional images from China (French). In short, this new version is a derivative of the X2, but more affordable!
Evolv S2: a more affordable version of the X2!
The Evolv S2 is largely inspired by the X2, with the same gimmicks. The case features three glass panels (on the front and both sides) and a motherboard tray that gives the impression of floating in space. The aesthetics are clearly well thought-out, but this version is more affordable than the S2, thanks in particular to a less elaborate stand. As you can see, the latter is much more basic. Secondly, the quality of the materials is no longer the same. Whereas the X2 used aluminum covers, here they’re made of plastic. This is less stylish, of course, but it does lower the entry price, which now stands at €120 in France.
At this price, we find a stylish case that offers a solid base for assembling a configuration. For the graphics card, for example, we have a length of 395 mm. Ventilation comes as standard, with three bottom-mounted M25-120 mm fans with inverted blades. Finally, for watercooling, we find a 360 mm radiator support at the top. And that’s where the covers come in, to conceal the radiator as well as the fans. Let’s not forget to mention support for back-connect motherboards, or the presence of cable management assistance. The latter take the form of Velcro strips placed at strategic points.
