Intel has had to deal with the instability of its 13th and 14th generation processors on a technical level… and now the company has to deal with legal action. In fact, a complaint has been lodged against the company for, to put it crudely, misleading the market. The brand is alleged not to have sufficiently alerted its users to the problem.
A complaint against Intel following the instability of its processors!
To put it mildly, we have learned that a complaint has been lodged against Intel following problems encountered with its Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh processors. The complaint relates to the fact that the brand has continued to market the CPUs in question despite the ongoing problems. Worse still, it claims that the brand was even aware of what was happening, as early as late 2022, early 2023, and did nothing to alert users.
Here we read about the case of Mark Vanvalkenburgh, who bought a Core i7 13700K in January 2023. However, this model lacked stability, and now we’re seeing the usual symptoms: lack of system stability… This translates into system freezes or even untimely reboots or drops in performance during heavy workloads.
In the end, it was only after the complainant had purchased his CPU that he learned of the problem via the media. What’s more, despite the installation of patches, the situation has not improved. Hence the complaint for misrepresentation, breach of implied warranty and violation of the New York State Consumer Protection Act. Naturally, the plaintiffs expect financial compensation and greater transparency from the company.
