FINALLY! The new NH-D15 from Noctua shows itself as this new version is exhibited at Computex which is currently taking place in Taipei. Thanks to TechpowerUp we have the first details and images of the heatsink.
NH-D15: the new generation of top-of-the-range heat sinks reveals itself!
As you can see, this new generation remains as imposing as ever. However, there are already some notable differences, notably in the fans. But we’ll come back to this in another article.
The radiator itself also evolves by proposing a more imposing nickel-plated copper base than its predecessor. We notice that it is also eccentric in order to limit the impact on the components located around the socket. A larger base also means more heat sinks, which have increased to eight from six. Thus, the entire surface of the base is covered, enough to cover the IHS of modern CPUs and leave no area without heatpipes… Ideal for MCM processors.
Moreover, the density of the fins is also increased by 20%. The space between each of them is reduced from 1.9 mm to 1.6 mm now.
Last but not least, we learn that the assembly section will use the SecuFirm 2+ mounting system. As for thermal paste, we’ll be using NT-H2 (9W/mK) and NA-TPG1 to avoid getting paste all over the place.
At present, we have no idea of the future price… However, the launch should take place during the second quarter of the year.
