New power supplies from Chieftec, with its Vega Series power supplies. In layman’s terms, we’re looking at entry-level units with less than 1000W and a price tag of less than €100, but there’s something for everyone!
Vega series, 750W and 850W power supplies for under €100!
This series features just two power supplies. These are really designed to keep the price down. First of all, the cables are not modular, for example. During assembly, you’ll need to manage all the connectors on the block. Here’s a little tip: if you have any excess, put a nylon collar around it and hide it in the power supply cover of your case 😉
Nevertheless, these blocks have 80 Gold certification. This means that these models comply with the ATX 3.1 standard and have all the necessary electrical protection. There’s also a 12V-2×6 connector on each of them, enough to power RTX 40s without having to use the adapter supplied in the box.
As far as cooling is concerned, a 135 mm fan with a Fluid Dynamic Bearing is at work. This is said to be ‘optimised’ to offer a good silence/performance ratio.
Finally, we’d like to mention the retail price: €89.90 for 750W and €99.90 for 850W! It comes with a 2-year warranty.
