Once again, ASUS announces a new motherboard (in addition to the B850 and B840 AMD models). The brand presents its new Maximus Z890 Hero BTF, a new high-end backpanel motherboard. It’s the perfect way to keep your PC set-up as clean as ever, with cables neatly hidden behind the motherboard tray!

ASUS Maximus Z890 Hero BTFOnce again, the BTF series is present at ASUS, with a model in ATX format as stylish as ever. With this reference, the ROG style is clearly present, with a massive logo on the lower part of the board and Maximus and Hero reminders on the various heatsinks.

What’s interesting about this model, however, is the positioning of the connectors. Indeed, the main connectors are positioned on the rear of the printed circuit board, the aim being to offer a clean mounting solution by hiding the cables on the rear of the motherboard tray as much as possible. In return, you’ll need a compatible case with additional openings.

The board itself benefits from a Z890 chipset foroverclocking Intel Core Ultra 200K processors.

Otherwise, connectivity is complete, with four memory slots supporting DDR5 in excess of 9200 MT/s. For the GPU part, of course, reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 with 600W power connector is part of the package. This will be complemented by PCIe 4.0 slots for additional cards. Finally, on the storage side, the brand has announced six M.2 slots, including one in PCIe 5.0 x4, compatible with M.2 22110 SSDs.

At the rear, theI/O shield is complete with dual Ethernet with 2.5 and 5 GbE. WiFi 7 is obviously present, and the board offers Bluetooth 5.4 support. Last but not least, there’s Thunderbolt 4,USB 10 Gbps and all that goes with it, HDMI, audio outputs, etc.
